We've been friends for almost 21 years. Two-thirds of my 32 years have included
Katie. Even though we haven't been neighbors for 14 years, nobody can make me
feel at home the way she does.

And now
our kids get to be friends. Watching them together melts my heart every single time. Being able to share motherhood with somebody who knew me before I could even drive a car is a blessing. We've gotten used to the long-distance friendship, but I still dream about being neighbors again. Yet I know Katie will be next to me wherever life takes us.
